"Lisa is truly an escape artist, if you will. These poems are the bombs that went off next to her, and she has come walking out of the smoke and dust, to become the person that she is."
Exene cervenka
"Love Letters & Suicide Notes” could be the title of a demented Country & Western song, an old 45 playing on a Chicago punk rock dive jukebox."

“Unafraid of the darkness, she invites you to explore the shadows of our lives, creating a comfort in pain, holding a torch well fought for, and won by hard truths and tragedy”
Lisa Bennington-Love is far from vicious these days, aside from unexpected wordplay that amplifies the shock value of what she's trying to say. Tempered with a dark, wry, sense of humor, Lisa uses her experiences to bring awareness to abuse from churches to family to her own drug addiction, and domestic violence.
You don't read Lisa Vicious' material or look at her art if you're looking for tender, positive messages, her writing is acerbic, heavy, and at times, downright brutal. However, having gone through everything she has, she is positive proof that you can get through the dark times with honesty and perseverance. After nearly 30 years of being in-out-and around the Detroit Music Scene, and a 12 year hiatus, she is back to doing what she loves.
